Weightlifting shoes serve purposes beyond just making you look cool. The hard soles ensure generated force is more completely transferred and provide a stable platform for the feet and ankles. In addition, the elevated heels increase the effective range of motion of the ankles, allowing the hips to be brought in closer to the heels when squatting and consequently the torso to be kept more upright. Deadlifts are a key functional exercise for everyone. If you or a client are unable due to injury or other limitation to perform full range of motion deadlifts, find methods of reducing the ROM at least temporarily.
