Wowzers.

500-700 pounds of sausage. That should last a while.

We did the pit cooking method when I was in college...dug a hole in the back yard of our rental ( I did cut the sod out to save to patch the mess later...good idea). Huge fire in the pit with a bunch of river rocks thrown in the bottom to act as heat sinks. A few of those exploded...no major injuries or fatalities. The pig was wrapped in a wet canvas sack, dropped into the pit, buried and allowed to roast for...12, 18hrs? I forget. Dug it up, cut it out of the bag and it was AMAZING.

About 3am we were most of the way through a keg and several bottles of tequila...that is when we cracked the skull open and went for the brain. Think Lord of the Flies.

The event? Biology Honor Society (Omicron Theta Epsilon) "mixer". Ahhh...the wild life of a certified geek.

Not a particular bright movie, and if I think that .458 Winchester Magnum bullets
bounced off from the cartilage hunchback...

Nice to know that a .50 revolver does the trick, but who in his right mind gives something like that to a child???

I think you'd need a bulldozer to dig a hole big enough for that hog. And probably 3 days of roasting time.

These hogs are not native to the southeast and wreak havoc on the local ecosystems.

The kid cleaarly has some experience, he's bagged several other medium size beasties as well. The last time I fired a .50 it was suprisingly controllable, likley the long barrel and the weight helped. much more so than say a snub nosed .357 or .44.

Pig's name was Fred--raised on a farm, sold days before it was killed.
