Not sure where to post this but I'm looking for a low carb brown sugar substitute. I do a lot of grilling and when I get to salmon its an important part of my recipe.

Maybe Splenda if you want low-carb? Or find a new recipe?

I found a recipe on line for a 4 part splenda and 1 part sugar free maple syrup. I was hoping for something easier. I'll have to experiment w/ my secret recipe.

Try some blackstrap molasses and stevia.

The sugar typically serves as a browning agent in addition to the sweetness...tomato paste can sub in certain instances.
