Guinness good for you - official

Now, if they come out with a study that shows Wild Turkey increases testosterone levels, I'll be set on my both of my alcohol consumption fronts...

"Drinking lager does not yield the same benefits, experts from Wisconsin University told a conference in the US.

Guinness were told to stop using the slogan decades ago - and the firm still makes no health claims for the drink.

The Wisconsin team tested the health-giving properties of stout against lager by giving it to dogs who had narrowed arteries similar to those in heart disease."

Who was the Wisconsin team that conducted this study? Was it Alpha Phi or Alpha Omega? Lol

They believe that "antioxidant compounds" in the Guinness, similar to those found in certain fruits and vegetables, are responsible for the health benefits because they slow down the deposit of harmful cholesterol on the artery walls.

It's official.....Guinness is now a vegetable...add it to the Paleo list...mine was already penciled in.

OK fair is fair....since I added dark chocolate to the paleo list a long time ago, its only right that Guinness gets inducted. Next up on the ballot is expresso...which i don't expect to be a problem there either.

I would expect that this is true of any stout or porter (technically the same thing). Good news for those of us that like good beer.

Seriously, a gluten-free stout (chocolate stout) could practically be a health food.

Anyone out there a homebrewer who wants to go bigtime with me?
