View Full Version : Basic Conditioning for Weightlifting

I O-lift 4 times a week and I'm curious as to what the thoughts are for basic/general aerobic conditioning, if any at all while O-lifting. I'm not looking to be a fire breather but not being out of breath when I get to the 5th floor would be nice without interfering with lifting. My emphasis is on lifting so I'm a bit hesitant to do a CF WOD or go for a jog. Jumprope, rowing, sandback ruck, sled pull the way to go?

I would do the met-cons that Greg is posting with his CA WOD's. They are designed exactly for that purpose. I can't quite remember his quote but it was very funny in regards to why he has a met-con component to the CA WOD's. Basically just what you said, he was a little more direct though.
All the met-cons should take place in less than 15 minutes and have a great variety to compliment the O/Lifts. They might be a good addition. Today's was my favorite so far.

According to what Greg wrote, he also cherry picks his met-cons according to what the O-lift schedule looks like that week.
The link on how he arranges the metcons is here:
