View Full Version : meal timing - early am workout

my only workout time during the week is first thing in the morning. crossfit 6-7 am.

I usually don't have a late night snack, and I'm not a big dinner eater. personal preference, I guess.

I like to pop zma and go to sleep on an empty stomach.

any suggestions?

really? why the gap? preferred hormonal response?

usually I come home, shower and eat - 20 min top ...

I'd be eating my sneakers after 90 minutes.

Sounds fine. If you want to lean out extending the period till you eat may help a bit. Otherwise what you are doing sounds great.

Yeah, forgot that caveat. It all depends on your goals (as always). I am trying to maintain lean mass and low bodyfat, so I find that not eating for about an hour afterwards gives me a nice response to the workout. If I am ravenous prior to that, I'll go ahead and eat.
