Curious as to what some other travelers do prior to really long plane rides?

Trying to figure out what I'm doing today at the gym and the longest plane ride I've had before this was 6 in a long long time.

I flew from London to Malaysia recently, about 12 hours. Late flight and I trained in the afternoon fairly intensely.

Now I feel stuffed commuting on a train where we are packed in like cattle on the way to meet their maker (or a clown called Ronald depending on your beliefs) and then sitting at a desk all day - very rarely feel sore or stiff when I'm not working but training - so I had my concerns about the flight.

But there are a few things I do when I fly:

Take extra water onto the plane (expensive now that you have to buy in the departure lounge) and sip from it regularly AND take us much fluid as is on offer from the cabin crew

Get an aisle seat near the back of the plane and get up and move around as much as possible. I've seen people not stir from their seats for 13 hours. If it's inconvenient to get up (say you've got a window seat and 2 people asleep inside you) your less like to bother. I'm 5'10'' and leg room isn't an issue but freedom to move is.

Where's that latest news article on fasting helps with Jet Lag?

20+ hours....longest I've done is 5 and I slept the whole time.

I find a tucked-away corner of the airport by my gate and look like a weirdo doing joint mobility and stretching...

I think I get a break in Japan for half an hour somewhere around 15 hours in.

I hope so.

The plane normally starts to run out of fuel at that point.

Problem solved...at 16 hours you will get in some swimming....

Wow, that was long.

Arrived at the airport at 9:30 AM EST one day and arrived here at noon EST the next day.

Plus I think I misplaced my sunglasses. D'oh!
