I've had one of these things http://www.painreliever.com/backnobber2.html?gclid=CI3a5d7ns5QCFST7iAod8xD5Tg# ProdDetails for years now and it works wonders. Just a couple days ago I strained a shoulder blade muscle while back squatting and have been working it over with the backnobber. Lots of folks use foam rollers, tennis balls and such but I swear by this device, it works. I'm not involved with the company btw. When I purchased this thing I was recovering from a nasty high speed rollover (3 times). Since then I've used it whenever the need arises and have really learned to appreciate how I can apply just the right amount of pressure when and where it is needed. Anyone else use one?

It responds to everyone's desire to live happily and free of pain.

Funny quote...

I don't use one, wouldn't be averse to it though...

I have one. I use it in congunction with a trigger point book. Saved a bunch of trips to the Doc. I like it.

All I can say is that my muscle strain started out a couple days back being so uncomfortable that it was one of those difficult to get a deep breath type pains. Using the backnobber has reduced the pain to one of slight discomfort. I'm sure I'll be good as new and ready to go in a few more days. The thing can be used on just about any muscle of the body due to its shape too.

Wow this thing is nuts! I just want to add a +1 that if you find one buy it! I bought one this past weekend at a running shop and it can get a lot of places in my back that I can't get to well with a foam roller or a ball on the ground.

Thats a cool idea also, I'll bet I could throw one of those together with PVC in about 15 minutes?

Allen, isn't it great? I guard mine from my son as he thinks it is something else for him to play with. Not a chance, not even he can come between me and my bn.

My son tries to use it on himself and fakes grimaces of pain! 3 = awesome age.
