For those that have or do use them, which brand is the best overall one for comfort and use?

I have a short vest with narrow shoulders from weightvest.com. It is great. Things I do with it:

box jumps
pull-ups
sledge swings
wheelbarrow pushes

and then all bw legs stuff.

The narrow shoulders are key, methinks. To be fair, I've not doen mush with the x-vest, so i cannot speak to if it is better.

If you can get one from a store somewhere. If you order online... shipping is HUGE cause you have to pay for them to ship the weight.

I have this one...

it's comfortable for stuff like walking pullups etc. not so much if you want to wear it during a dynamic crassfit type workout.

So do the ones you can get at Walmart suck badly or what? Seen them there but never really looked closely.

I have 2 from WalMart, 1 for me, 1 for the wife. I dropped mine and chipped the buckle. Fixed it with a zip tie and it holds up well. Much cheaper than the Xvest, but is limited at 20# max weight.

I like my MiR Short and Pro vests.

Send me a message letting me know what you're looking for, and I can make you a recommendation and get you a 10-15% discount on one of them. It's enough to at least cover the shipping charges.

I've never used it but a friend swears by the SmartVest (http://www.smartvest.net/). It's fitted, and he wears it for full CF workouts including running portions.

Mike;

Bunch of threads on the CF board, do an Advanced Search, limit to Equipment section.

Post your choice as I'm either going to buy a sled or vest....

I like the V-max weight vest but I've only used this brand so I can't offer a comparison.

Did I just get told to use the search feature?? Wow.....just got demoted to internet troll? Ouch. Ha.

Actually will probably look locally to see what I can find also (as shipping does suck on those). Also had several people ask through the workout sites what kind of weight vest I suggest....and other than packing in a couple 25lb plates in an old backpack I have, I really have no experience with the brands out there. Wouldn't mind one for some hill/trail running.

Bought a pair of Mir vests from Patrick O'donnelly above, got them quick and are a quality product.

I bought a set of military chest webbing for about $25 off Ebay and then stuffed the pockets with small weight plates, some steel and lead rods i had lying around and also with 1kg bundles of bent nails and bolts from my grip training.

The webbing I got is a copy of the South African M83 pattern and it's got heaps of pockets, large and small that allow you to distribute the weight where you want it.

For example if i'm doing CF workouts that involve situps I can take all the weights out of the back pockets and put them around the side and front. For longer running workouts etc the back pack pocket will hold a water bladder and the shoulder strap length and belt can be adjusted to suit different sized people.
