For paleo types in the SF Bay Area, there are a couple of grassfed/pasture raised meat CSAs here that provide a package of mixed meat monthly.
I just joined the Marin Sun Farms CSA, and receive my first package yesterday. For $120, I got 17 lbs of meat (about $7/lb), including 5 lbs of ground, 4 packages of steaks, 2 package of ribs, lamb sirloin, a huge london broil, and 4 goat chops. 2 of the latter I cooked up yesterday with white wine, shallots, and rosemary. I should have cooked 3, because my two kids tore through one in no time flat. Highly recommended.

There's a CSA style beef side available from Morris Grassfed:

A Berkeley meat club:

There used to be a Bay Area Meat CSA, but it appears to be inactive right now:

The CSA approach is slightly more expensive on a per-lb basis than a side of beef, but when you factor in the energy cost of dedicated cold storage and the benefit of getting different types of meat, it's a bargain, in my opinion.
