One of the Black Belt instructors for Gracie Barra Orlando is fighting on the Elite XC card tonight on CBS.

Lorenzo Borgomeo (170.25) vs. Mikey Gomez (170.25)

Mikey won his last fight about 2 minutes into the first round with a triangle armbar. He is a real dynamic fighter and the guy he is fighting is from ATT. Should be a good match up for both of them. Mikey is fighting after only 5 weeks maybe from his last fight.

I will be at Disney with the kids for the not so scary Halloween party so I will miss the fights. When I first heard about it I was going to go to the fight then I realized I was already busy. I don't know if his fight will be televised. But I am DVR'ing just in case.

Another interesting note Gina almost didn't make weight, it apparently took her three tries.

Gina weight in at 142.75, then she stripped and weighed in at 142.5, and then this mysteriously turned into 141 without her having to run to the sauna or anything.

She looked really pale and embarrassed about having to strip. I almost felt bad for her except that she always comes in over and it was her own damn fault.

Anyway, here's the unedited video.

Seriously, if she was so worried about making weight, why would she wear a sports bra and skirt that weighed 3 lbs? ;)

Kelly came in at 141. WAR Kelly!

What the fuck was going on with Gina's weighing?

She already took her skirt and bra off and still weighed 142.5lbs... I mean, otherwise she wouldn't have needed those towels. Then all of the sudden she's 141.

Smells fishy.

Gina never makes weight, and is never held accountable for it. She's the face of women's MMA!

Mikey won by armbar in the 2nd round. Here is a picture from the weigh-ins.

Apparently the main event was fairly anti-climatic. I am turning on the recording to check it out right now.

Maybe she went to the bathroom? Lol, all I could think of.

Apparently that was a poor choice of words. It was extraordinarily exciting for 14 seconds. I have never thought Kimbo was or would be a real threat for any of the top 25 heavyweights in the world. So I have been waiting for Elite to put him in the ring with someone who had some talent.

I watched it just a few minutes ago and Kimbo clearly had no idea where he was as he was trying to take the ref down after the stoppage. You got to give the credit to Seth for taking the fight and for getting the TKO. As Seth was doing his post fight interview Kimbo is in the background saying something along the lines of I got no problem with you.

So yeah anti-climatic is the wrong word.

I enjoyed seeing Arlovski fight. Not that entertaining, but overall, it was free, and a UFC PPV is what, $50?

She didn't. If you watch the video, it clearly shows her weighing in as over, and then the man reading the scale mysteriously changed his mind. Pretty pathetic.

That fight was horrible.....with that being said I would NOT fight Kimbo, EVER.

I heard on Jim Rome that Petruzelli was approached by the Elite XC brass and offered an incentive to keep the fight standing.

So much for that Kimbo as Elite's poster boy.

I thought it was funny seeing Frank rip into Ken in the intro about taking that head butt during his pre-fight warm-up. "What are you thinking?"

I saw Mikey's fight today on DVD. He dominated. First round he went hard with the jab and worked some kicks and knees. He took him down twice also. Second round same deal but the guy came at him and Mikey just threw two huge knees and drove the guy into the cage then dropped for the double. Once he had him on the ground he just punished the guy up until the guy tried to push through and he took an easy armbar.

Turns out the guy he fought was 36 and 4 as a professional Muay Thai fighter. Mikey looked real sharp even standing.
