I just spent the past 3 weeks writing a paper on IF for one of my classes. I'm more confident in talkin about it with people, but i'm WORN out reading the stuff.
anyways one of the most interesting things i found was this:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17569758?ordinalpos=3&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsP anel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18545695?ordinalpos=1&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsP anel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum
basically males and females respond different to fasting and CR. men have a pretty straight forward genetic response to excess food or a lack thereof, but women have varying degrees of response. cognitive ability and testosterone levels rise in females when restricted. this could suggest why anorexic patients do well on cognitive tests.
