I've just started it, and I'm liking what I read... I'm one who found the Zone sorta hard to do 'cause I'm undisciplined about measuring. However this one isn't all about the blocks and is easier to read for me.

Anyone else taking a look at this one?

I'll post summaries as I read, but I'm in deadline hell for the next week.

It might be a good read, but how many books does Sears need to write to get the point across? Not to be a buzz kill, but I doubt there will be anything groundbreaking in this book, if there is even anything that differentiates it from the 50 others Zone books he has written. At any rate, let us know if it ends up being something worthwhile.

Hey- You know I LOVE some skepticism and conflict.

I totally agree, but this one I've actually gotta read anyhow... Ah the freelance life- it's not all cover stories in glossies and big name papers.

Anyhow, point well taken. And I'm sure that THIS bunch will let me know where Sears repeats and or contradicts himself. But that's hard to do if you're plagarizing yourself I'm told.

But I've had an unwell little boy for the past few days, so I haven't gotten any reading done in the past week! How do people with kids- plural- get anything done?!?!?!?

I may give it a quick skim...but I've read enough Zone...Inflammation Zone...Omega Zone....I'm sure in the end it's a sales pitch to eat Zone bars and buy $80 fish oil from him....but there may be some interesting points in between.....but once you get the basic message it's the same thing over and over....he's just writing to keep his diet products alive and selling....

Yes it is indeed possible to plagarize oneself, and Dr. Sears has made a wonderful example of just this!

If you've read any book since the original Zone, you will repeat to yourself, "Didn't I just read that?" over and over and over and over again.

Now, if there's someone who hasn't read the Zone book, or someone you care for who needs to understand the science of eating regularly and putting down the diet colas, this is a very good book for them.

1-10 I give the book on its own merits an 8.

However, if you have ANY familiarity with the Zone and Dr. Sears, the rating I would give it drops to a 5. I mean... it's all good info, but the population here on this board would be mighty ticked to sit down and read it.

Skim a friend's copy.
