So I'm 6'2", 185. I want to get up to the 211 weight class though, and put on some mass, leaving room for more strength development because I only started a couple weeks ago and am still very skinny. I snatch 135 lbs., C and J 205 lbs. Would Greg's "weihgt gain" program in his book be suited for me, or should I stick with his beginner program, and just eat enough to gain? Thanks

It's really all about eating, so just eat a lot to gain mass and stick with the compound lifts to get stronger, keep practicing your classical lifts too.

Gregs Mass Gain program I think would be a good one, it's got all the programming done and you can keep working the SN and C&J.

cool. would it be wise even to use starting strength to bulk, doing heavy singles and accessory work for c and j's and snatches once a week, until I hit my desired weight? Thanks!

Use it as written, with large amounts of food and milk is the best way to go on this one.

Either starting strength or one of Greg's programs would be suitable.

As Kevin and Gavin said, work hard on the big compound lifts and eat lots. You'll find that to eat the amounts of food required for serious mass gain you are probably going to have to slip in some "bad" foods like bread and the occasional fast food meal but if you don't go nuts most of the extra mass will be muscle.

Personally when I started O lifting seriously in 2006 I was 82kg, by the end of that year I was 95kg and stayed there in 2007 - 2008 and now since december 2008 I've gone from 96 to 104kg by eating everything in sight and busting my ass on squats, deads and strongman stuff.

sweet thanks for the advice man. I think I'll stick with starting strength, then switch over to Greg's program once I stal (my lifts are 3x5 at 255 for squat, 155 bench, 125 press, and 1x5 at 315 for deadlift, so I don't know how much longer I have). Thanks fellas!
