I'd call that a jump shrug, which I consider to be a different exercise than a clean pull. I didn't notice the guy's knee.

The way they had the chains set up would seem like it would make for a herky-jerky load when the heavy chains finally got picked up off the floor.

i'd call it the no lockout hopping deadlift.

once you start playing with chains and bands, it's really hard to stop yourself.

Form isn't great. Too much weight on a bar makes for a slow jump shrug. Kind of loses the whole point of a jump shrug. Again, some shitty jump shrug form. I don't see extension through the ball of the foot or hips. A lot of leaning over the bar.

Doing it chains might be interesting. I have no experience with chains but it is intriguing.

Still, in their use it isn't unsafe and their athletes are going to gain from it.

which happens to have something like a clean pull w/ chains at about 2:50.

Whatever gets the teams winning. There's definitely worse out there than clean pulls with chains. I do wonder what the reasoning behind a blob of chain is though, rather than a few short strands. Several shorter chains would give a much more linear weight increase than a blob.

That video makes it seem like ALL of his training is done with chains. Is that the case? Seems a bit extreme.

I think Travis had an injury and went back to PL.
