What are the most effective (both cost and health wise) cleaning solutions for:

1- Spray bottles for wiping down equipment
2- Mopping the floor (assuming barefoot lifting from time to time)
3- cleaning the exposed metal stuff. (bars, bells, ect)

Do none of them and bill it as a "hardcore" environment. Real men get MRSA.

And don't get it treated medically ;)

You can buy cheap empty spray bottles a variety of places, I'm pretty sure wal-mart or target carries them. From there a mix of bleach and water works well for most surfaces (med balls, barbells, etc.)

As the comments suggest, you need to mix it fresh, the bleach will degrade after about 24 hours, but it's so cheap that it's not much of a waste.

For the floors around Primal I use an industrial/commercial Pine-sol that is anti-microbial:

Just a very quick primer on sanitation:

1. Every surface that could be contaminated needs to be cleaned
2. First you need to clean, removing macrocontaminates like dirt and oils. This is something you know about and basically involves something like soap and scrubbing.
3. Then you need to sanitize, using an antimicrobial cleaner like bleach. This stuff needs to SIT for a certain amount of contact time (read the label) in order to reach the effectiveness advertised. So spray or apply, let sit, wipe off.

Do step 2 then step 3; skipping either or reversing them means you haven't sanitized. The bugs hide under the big stuff.

What level of analness you want to go to probably depends on your personality type and how much blood you let float around. Blood-borne pathogens, simple stuff like the cold, and MRSA and the like are basically what I'd worry about. If you can cut out the first you're doing a whoooole lot. Don't let anyone spit on your shit either...

As a precaution, I got updated on my tetanus shots at my last physical.
