Protein, omega-3's and heavy metals. Everything a lifter needs :p

Not to mention cheap and convenient.

im looking for ideas. what canned fish do you eat and what do you eat it with?

at the moment im mainly eating sardines and tuna. tuna in olive oil with chilli is pretty good. sardines in oil are ok. sardines in tomato sauce are good but loads of the cans contain soy products.

currently im just eating out of the can for breakfast at work (away from fellow workers). would love some paleo type recipies to include them in.

new brunswick brand has a canned herring called "golden smoked" with no nasty stuff and tastes pretty good as a traveller.. otherwise if I have time its gotta be mayo with some tuna or salmon

I buy canned Mackerel and Salmon by the case at Wal-Mart. Mackerel is 1.86, Salmon appx 2.75ish. Looks gross, but tastes just fine once you stir in some veggies or make into a loaf using Almond Meal.

I do think canned fish is a guy thing, women might feed it to their cats, but that's about it.

I will take a tin of wild alaska salmon and mix it with 1/2 a mashed avacado, a tblsp or 2 of salsa and wrap it in lettuce. delicious!

I dont like most sardines cold out of the can but fry em in olive oil with garlic and they are pretty tasty. Just dont go kissing anyone.

I mix one can tune in oil with half a can of cottage cheese (100g). That makes for two meals at basically 4 protein blocks and 4 fat blocks each.

This, washed down with about half a liter of whole milk, has basically been my breakfast and/or lunch for the past year.

Cheap/fast/easy and doesn't taste too bad.

I ate that today sans lettuce wraps and it was great! Thanks for the recommendation. Here is the Macro breakdown from fitday. I loved the fat and protein content.

Avocado, raw 243 Calories 22.3 G/F 13.0 G/C 3.0 G/P
Salmon, canned 205 Calories 8.9 G/F 0.0 G/C 29.2 G/P
Salsa 9 Calories 0.1 G/F 2.0 G/C 0.5 G/P

The Canadian "brunswick" ones are really good. Almost 100 percent paleo.

And there good but never fill me up...
