Just looking for a go or no go on my bar placement. I dont know if the pictures are adaquate to the task though, so I'll take better ones if need be.

The pictures aren't perfect, so it is a little tough to tell, but I think it looks fine. What is more important than whether or not random dudes over the internet think it looks okay is whether or not it works for you. Are you (reasonably) comfortable with the bar in that position? Is the bar staying over the middle of the foot? If yes, then it doesn't matter what I think because it is working for you.

I don't like the low bar placement unless you are squatting for powerlifting.
More than half the guys you see in John Sheaffer's vids are not even hitting parallel depth in the squat, and I'm pretty sure the low bar placement contributes to that.
Give me #20 less weight and 3" more depth.
