I heard about this a while back...sound interesting and might actually work. i wonder how effective a bucket of ice water in the gym would be? Re-reading the article the vacum element likely brings more blood flow to the palm, allowing more heat to vent?

i would just try the EMS approach to rapid systemic cooling--put some ice on the carotid, femoral, and axillary arteries. a hell of a lot less expensive. all you'd need is a mini freezer in the gym. i'm sure walmart sells those for less than $4K.

Anyone up for an experiment? The gym on the air force base might frown upon me taking a thing of ice into the gym with me. Just a guess.
