I have just began what I plan to be an 8 week cycle of the Texas Method. I'm following a very generic version of it:
Monday: 5x5 squat, 5x5 Press (alternate weekly with bench), 5x5 BB row. All sets straight across.
Wed: 80% or Mondays for 2 sets of each.
Friday: 5RM of each with the exception of row, replacing with DL.
Anyone having any suggestions of assistance excercises and where to fit them in would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would add assistance only as you can prove you can recover from the main lifts. You might add chins/pullups to the setup above.

I'm not sure if you should be lading out on the squat and (bench) press and dl on the same day. It's a lot of work.

Assistance / supplement work could include pull ups (with any hand placement of yr choice), bridges for core work, Box jumps or depth drops.

Box jumps should be done very early on in the session. Depth drops latter.

None. Seriously. spend your extra time planning meals and stretching. If you're fat go for a walk if your skinny go eat.

Seriously?

I've got nothing against box or depth jumps and Brian is strong enough to use both but not as assistance in a Texas cycle.

Thanks for the advice so far. Seeing how I feel already I can see where I probably don't need much extra work, Monday was a bitch. Any more suggestions/opinions will be appreciated.
Dave, I guess your answer is in your signature, ha.

Thanks again.
