This is one of my favorite questions, though I always pose as "at-bat music" (in a baseball game).

Huddle Formation - The Go! Team

'what have i got?" by rollins band. that or 'on my way to the cage' by the same.

but only because i don't know of any song called 'greg is about to get his ass handed to him'.

speaking of that, passed renato sobral in the columbus airport yesterday. holmes looked like he stuck his face under the wheel of a moving truck.

John Vernon

'Summer Overture' - Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream).

On another note my favorite intro ever was the episode of the Simpsons where Homer becomes a boxer and walks out to face the reigning champ (straight out of prison) Drederick Tatum and his fight song is 'Why can't we be friends'...genius.

Any song by Rush, Journey, Tenacious D or of course "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips. That song always gets me pumped.

In fact.. I have to bust out with a chorus right now... he sings out loud at the top of his mighty lungs:

"Some day somebodys gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Dont you know?
Dont you know things can change
Thingsll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things will go your way
Hold on for one more day...."

Now is that a prelude to a tap out or what!!

How about "Momma said knock ME out" by PM Greg E....I hear he is up and coming in the white rap community...

And to think I was actually going to put together a compilation of the suggestions and post them for the enjoyment of all. I pray that I can get my head right before I go to No-Gi class at noon.

All I did was read the words that Brad typed and now that song is stuck in my head. When I used to ride with a bunch of guys training for triathlons someone in the bunch would always start singing a song that got in your head and jacked with you. There was one dude who would start belting out copa copa cabana and I would want to ride into the nearest telephone pole. When forced to I will use lethal song deadly force and based on Brad's lyrics I feel that I must respond. I regret this and I apologize to all who read this in advance

Sung to the tune of Old MacDonald only slower!

I love you
You love me
We're a happy family
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too?

I love you
You love me
We're best friends
Like friends should be
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too?

I do want to get a real list of fight songs together and I plan on posting it for all to enjoy.

In leui of Brad and Derek's offerings (which I stopped reading at the first line so as not to have to smash my head into the computer screen), I'm going back to my Bob Marley. It's finally warming up here in the midwest and the beginning of spring always brings out the reggae.

As to my recommendation of Huddle Formation - The Go! Team, the UK version trumps the US version (copyright stuff caused them to redo the samples).

I'm not sure if it is appropriate fight intro music (doesn't seem very scary), but it gets my hyped up, and that's the important part.

What about .."I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" You have to make sure Tiny Tim is the singer. He is the guy that sings "tip toe through the tulips" If someone had the sack to play that for an entry song I would pack it in right there. "Orgasmatron" by Motorhead if I had to be serious.

I think i would go with Karate Kid's "You're the best around...."

My buddy was a reserve baseball player at Michigan State and each player had an "at bat song". Well, my friend rarely played and he wouldn't tell anyone on the team what his song was before he actually made a plate appearance. It became a huge thing of anticipation for the whole team and everyone was trying to guess. He eventually got an at bat and i guess the dugout was boiling over and when he stepped up, he had the Top Gun anthem (the instrumental when Maverick throws Goose's dog tags over the railing and into the sea) i guess the dugout was dying laughing and then my friend struck out.

If I had to act out an intro....I would do this whole scene...run out and blast the music....I think the end frozen poze in mid air in the ring would confuse the other opponent....and only add to my strategy....win by confusion...

Sweet! of course with that song....me and my Irish posse would skip the fight...go to the bar...and then start a fight.....with each other.....then come back into the bar and repeat.....so may be counterproductive....

If I was fighting an Irish guy, I'd definitely go with "Danny Boy" and while he was crying, I'd knock him the f-ck out. Of course, it might be tough 'cause I'd be crying, too.

If I was fighting one of our friends in the gay community, I'd go with Rocket Queen by GNR 'cause it makes me crazy strong, and well, it's got "queen" in the title. What can I say, I'm a crowd pleaser.

Otherwise, I'd go with white noise 'cause it totally makes me want to kill somebody. (Seriously, if you ever need information out of someone, tie them to a chair and play white noise. They WILL break.)

"Lost at Birth" - Public Enemy, Apocalypse '91 (the first track that's laregely instrumental). It just sounds like hell on earth even before Chuck D and Flav get started.

I actually used this as an intro once, in a fight better forgotten...
