Greg, looking at the video when you demonstrate this exercise, your knees are very extended when the bar is high on the thighs. But when I see you do the power snatch/snatch/hang snatch/etc, the knee angle differs in that the angle is smaller when the bar is at the same location on the thighs (i.e. the knees are not as extended). Aren't you supposed to mimic the posture in the snatch when doing the snatch segment pull... am I missing something?

Or are you doing this on purpose to strength the hams/glutes?

I have a bad habit of getting behind the bar too soon when I snatch - so my snatch should look more like that segment pull.

ah ok, that clears up a lot. I have the same problem. I can thrust the hips forward fine but my torso/chest isn't really over the bar. I notice when it is, the weight just flings up there effortlessly.

time for some halting snatch/clean deadlifts, amirite?
