Carrying on Olympic Rings on a Domestic Flight?

Has anyone tried to carry on a pair of olympic rings on a flight in the US?

In theory it should be fine. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I did it once. I think it got me flagged at security, but a quick check by hand and all was well.
