Does anybody here know anything about tailor's bunion (bunionette) as well as any treatments?

Do toe alignment splints have high success rates?

Should I just go to a specialist? If I have to, I'd like to see someone who is in support of the whole barefoot/minimalist footwear thing. Any suggestions on how I might go about finding such a specialist?

I'll take shoe recommendations too.

Thanks!

If they're not painful or bothering you is there a problem besides cosmetic?

I'm actually not too sure of what the options are but splinting may work to some extent (as toe expanders do), but may not necessarily change joint geometry much.

They currently aren't very painful, although sometimes my narrower shoes are uncomfortable. I'm concerned that they may get worse to the point that something hazardous or permanently damaging might develop.
