What weight and reps scheme is appropiate to use when doing GMs.

I tend to stick with 4-8 reps, although I'll use triples sometimes with lifters who are well conditioned to the exercise. I prefer using relatively light weights and more depth/better arch and saving the heavier loading for deadlift/pull variations.
