View Full Version : Klokov's stance, Left foot always forward why?

I've been pretty consumed with this lately in my own stance. I'm guessing due to an injury (or hopefully something correctable like an imbalance etc) my right foot tends to be turned out more and slightly in front of or behind my left foot (can't remember atm lol). I try to walk as evenly as possible and try to set up in all my lifts as evenly as possible also but that foot just tends to rotate outwards more and sets up naturally infront/behind my right. As I'm focusing on being symmetrical I see Klokov always has his left foot forward. Should I continue my efforts or just set up in w/e way feels comfortable?

Very view people (if any) are perfectly symmetrical. It's very common for feet to not be perfectly aligned and similar oddities. Klokov is pretty extreme in this regard, but presumably he and his coaches are very aware of it and have found that it works better for him to just let it be than try to correct it.

Awesome ty! And from the great Greg Everett himself! I love your book btw. In deciding to start Olympic lifting (from bb/powerlifting/brostuff) I immediately purchased your book and starrett's. They've been a huge help. Hopefully in the future I can actually get a membership at a real gym with bumpers and certified coaches. Until then LA Fitness, your book and this forum. Ty :)
