View Full Version : Form Check (Am I banging the bar out front?)

Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone could give me some advice. I feel like I'm bumping the bar out front a fair bit and getting a bit loop at the top of the bar path. Any tips/exercises to fix this? Same thing on the clean. I feel like I'm loosing it out front quite a bit.

It may be coming out a little bit, but not much.

I think the issue is with the third pull of both movements. It's hard to see everything from this one angle but it looks like you need to pull under with the elbows up and out. You can see more on the clean than anything that immediately after the second pull your elbows just fall back and move around the bar.

I suggest doing some Tall Snatches/Cleans to help emphasize keeping the bar closer to you as you transition to the receiving position

stay over more through second pull and finish the pull, your shoulders are behind the bar just after power position/just after the bar passes the knee and you're cutting the pull ie lower/mid thigh as opposed to mid/upper thigh. do some work on isolating first pull and RDLs.
