View Full Version : How not to rack yourself when doing Cleans?

I have a hard time fully extending during the second pull because I have racked myself a few to many times and now I think I'm gun shy. I already wear compression shorts and that helps a bit but it's not 100 percent fix. What are some fixes for this?

This could be from starting to open up too early. Try to let the bar get a little higher before initiating the extension.
If you want you can embed some videos to check out your clean technique.

Yea, you're bringing your shoulders back too early. Stay over the bar longer and let the bar get a little higher.
Also, try to get your eyes up when lifting off of the floor. I get the whole "neutral neck" idea but if you pull your chest up more then you can keep your vision focused straight ahead rather than looking at the floor.
