IF and supplementation
 
've maintained my habit of taking my multi-vitamin, C, and fish oil with my coffee in the morning.

Lately I've been thinking that maybe I should hold off until I start eating again. What is your opinion on this?

Intuitively, it makes sense to me, leaving your GI tract as empty as possible, in addition to the generally held opinion that it's best to take vitamins with food.

I typically fast from 9PM to 5 PM. I do take 1-2 tbs of heavy cream to lighten my coffee. I typically train around 2 PM.

Should I consider taking everything during the eating window? Or should I still split my fish oil dose between morning/night?

I do remember that Ori Hofmekler recommended supplementation on an empty stomach, for greater assimilation, but that might have been specific for glutamine, and Hofmekler's recommendations haven't necessarily been the most optimal.

Hey Steve! Id throw the vitamins down with food. Less chance for stomach upset and I think you partition those nutrients better with some of the co-factors in foods. NewChapter is a supplement line that really believes in this and sells all its supplements co-enzymated. I doubt if it is a big deal either way however. I would for sure save the fish oil for a meal with plenty of fat. You will certainly minimize absorption slugging down fish caps on an empty stomach.
