Pilates DVD
My wife has requested that I find her a pilates DVD. She wants to incorporate that into her training once a week. Having absolutely no experience nor a great fondness for pilates (probably once again based on the fact I have no experience with it) I don't have any ideas.
Any suggestions for videos would be greatly appreciated. |
I am not a connoisseur myself... But my wife likes almost anything by Stott Pilates.
http://www.stottpilates.com/ I got the recommendation for these DVDs from another local Pilates instructor (who is not affiliated with the Stott group). She started with the Pilates Express Series. Hopefully this helped... |
Thanks, I ordered 1 of the pilates express and one on core matwork.

If you can talk her into the "Naked & Busty" Pilates series I think that is the one I'd push for.

Bitter disappointment. |
Obviously a business opportunity exists here...Ron will represent our legal interests, Chris, you track down some drunk sorority girls...they are always nearby. MOD- beer, nitrus and raw ether...this should be fun AND profitable.

Robb, I didn't know you knew my wife.

I confess:
I picked up that Complete Book of Pilates for Men book by Daniel Lyons, Jr, at the recommendation of Tom Furman. Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not real impressed with the material. The beginners mat course, based on the original mat course by Joe Pilates himself, is kind of like an ab routine. I would have to pick up the original materials by Pilates to make further judgements upon the material itself. It seems there is a lot of "cult" surrounding Pilates, who, himself, was a gymnast, acrobat, and boxer. |
