5x5 assistance Exercises
Does anyone have an opinion/tried/doing 5 x 5 with dips, pullups, and crunchs along with the SS program?

I know that Coach Riptoe mentioned in an interview that he recommends heavy sets of 5 for crunchs for core strengthening. I wondered if this could also be applied for pullups/chinups and dips with weight added on a weekly basis. I started doing this over the past couple of workouts and it seems to be going well.

I personally love 5x5 for weighted dips and pullups. I am starting this on monday -

I concur...dips and pullups are excellent heavy exercises to do.

Roger that. I do weighted pullups and/or ring dips after most of my ME workouts along with GHD situps and/or Turkish situps. Great stuff.

The last few weeks I've been doing 5x5 ring dips & strict chins on tuesday's. This past tuesday I did all sets w/ a 32k KB...I may try 40k next week although set 5 was a struggle this week.
