Determining weight for Presses
I've noticed that while there are percentages used for Press and Push Press, there's pretty much never a "heavy single" or "max" for those exercises. Is this just because they are smaller weights and tend to not go up as fast, or am I missing something?
Because most people who follow this WOD do it only for a couple months, I assume they have an established 1RM for those exercises, and that they won't change significantly in that short time (at least enough to really affect the training). I also assume that people are more often going to be estimating 1RMs on those exercises, so the %s are more an approximation than a prescription. Definitely feel free to test your 1RM on those occasionally.
