regularity

I noticed that I only have been poopin every two or three days for a while now. I eat plenty of fiber (fruits, sweet potatoes, beans, flax seed meal, nuts/nut butters) and get 1-1.5 liters of water/liquids a day. Does anyone know what the deal is? I normally used to go once every morning before my workout (kinda funny, I would always have to go about an hour before my workout on the dot, like the anticipation triggered daily bowel movements lol. Maybe it was the pre workout supps lol). Could I not be eating enough? I get in around 22-2300 cals

um, notice any bowel movements? anything different in your health and lifestyle? feeling sick or crappy (no pun intended)? If not than I wouldn't really worry if you feel normal. Try a laxative?

are you IFing? when i was IFing a lot, my BM's would delay sometimes.

nuts have clogged me up before.

when you do go, are they healthy in appearance and feeling?

Like Grissim mentioned, look to the nuts/seeds. Try little to none for a while and see what happens. Get your fats from butter, coconut, olive oil. If you need to do nuts, do some nut butter (not whole nuts). See how that works.

More non-starchy veggies.

Only eating nut butters currently. Actually just had a large movement. Guess that is kinda my pattern. Usually a day or 2 with nothing then a pretty big one. Funny though, only time I seem to have a "regular" movement is if I have time to wake before classes and "think" about or try to "will" a movement.

OK, then cut out the nut butters and see what happens. 1 BM every 2-3 days is not good. BMs should "just happen", they should not involve effort or having to "will" them.

It's probably a simple food sensitivity. Nuts are often the culprit, especially in those who try to up their fat intake with them.

Eggs + bacon + coffee.....works daily for me....fiber is overrated....

If I pooped once every 2-3 days I would NO reading done.:D I have found that eating an avacadoe or taking more fish oil than normal (not that such actions are intentional) will make me poop like a goose. Its been a while since I have had a poop discussion...my kids have moved on to other things to talk about.

What are some good preventative measures to follow I guess. I take phillips colon health for good bacteria, I try to avoid drinking lots of water with meals. Would putting oils on the meat you eat facilitate with their digestion or help them pass smoother? Or sprinkle flax meal on them?

George Mounce 01-29-2009 04:28 PM

Flax meal is notorious for all the sudden hitting you like a lahar (volcanic mud flow if you didn't know). Start out with a couple of tablespoons a day at most until you are used to it.
