Yrik Vardanian...
Looking for other examples of long, lean OL'ers...I'm interested in starting positions for tall guys and how they compare to more "normally" put together lifters.

Kolecki's pretty tall.

Yea, Kolecki came to mind. Which sent me on a youtube spree, which consumed about an hour of my life
|
I see Kolecki's only 6'0", which I know makes him a Titan in olympic weightlifting. How tall is Vardanian?
|
Just read an interview with yurik's son who said he was 5' 9" "a little taller" than his dad...I guess I thought Yurik was taller than that...whatever.

Andy -
For tall lifters, you're pretty much stuck with superheavies - and most of them aren't that tall. And they all start in pretty similar positions to the little guys. The Vardanians actually start in a commonly low position - they just lead with the hips and bring the knees way back - so it's their pull, not their start, that's odd. And they're definitely rare examples. |
Naim Süleymanoğlu. For sure.
