Lifting shoes for my 12 year old daughter
Hello all,
I finally think that my big little girl is ready to get herself a set of lifting shoes. I've had her doing the olympic lifts in Chuck Taylors the past 18 months. She even competed in them last Fall. I finally think her foot might have stopped growing. She's in an 11 Women's right now; but given her age, I'd like to go with a cheaper shoe and save the Addistars for when she gets around 14. What would be a good shoe, that's not overly expensive, and doesn't look too bad? I'm very open to suggestions, so plesae chime in. Thanks in advance. All the best, Arden |
The VS and the Wan Ho seem to be the cheapest shoes you can find. Another cheap option would be bowling shoes, just resole the bottom.

I actually asked my coach the other day about the best lifting shoe for women (since someone asked me). He said the Nikes are the best for women but hard to find.

Thanks Brian and Sarena,
I think she would kill me if I got her bowling shoes. The only request was, "I don't want them to look gay." I'll likely go with a Pendlay shoe as it's about half the price of the Addistars and comparable to the Do-wins and Rogues. Plus, I really like Glenn. Sarean - those Nike's are wicked hard to find. After you posted this, I wasted about 20 minutes of my life looking for a pair that would fit her. I'm going to order a 9.5 Pendlay from Muscledriver. I'm hoping that size and half difference will work out right. All the best, Arden |
That ought to be fine, and I'm sure Glenn would have no problem returning them for another size if they don't fit.
Lol at your daughter's comments. |

Just mildly curious, but did he say why he preferred the Nikes? |
I am not sure. I will ask him again tomorrow!

OK so I asked my coach today..he said cuz Nikes are cut narrower and are better suited to the narrow woman's foot!
