VA/DC/MD: Gymnastics Show at UMCP
Hey guys!

There's going to be a really awesome gymnastics show at the University of Maryland, College Park, next weekend. The show will be run by Gymkana, which is a drug/alcohol free gymnastics and acrobatics club that I'm a part of and that Steven Low now coaches for (after being a member for 4 years). It's Friday April 9th and Saturday April 10th at 7pm, in the Comcast Center at UMCP. Tickets are only $9 for adults or $8 for kids, and I can guarantee you'll get a much better show than you would get at any movie.

We'll have over twenty different acts of both traditional and circus-type gymnastics, including our vaulting act where we flip through a ring of fire. You'll even get to see Steve make a fool of himself as he jumps in vain, flailing his arms around through the air, trying to untangle the rings after Shum does his routine so that the next guy can go!

Anyway, it'd be awesome if you can go, both since you'll get to see an awesome show and since I'll know there are awesome people in the crowds!

Take care,

Catch footage of Steve flailing. I like the footage where his PB fell during slapping PU. My boys did more so.

LOL, I think I'll pass on the footage...

Wait? What video was that? Is it still online somewhere? This sounds awesome.

Steve, you know you'll be on the DVD.

A bunch of peeps from a homeschool group I'm a member of will be going, but I don't know if my not-yet-two year old would do okay there.

He's already in tumbling, and I think if he saw that familiar equipment, he'd cry if I didn't let him onto the floor. Or maybe he'd be fine...

I'm still up in the air :-P as to if we'll show up or not.

Well, hopefully you'll be able to make it. If you're friends would care who I am as a friend of them within six degrees of separation, they'll be able to see me on the rings, in the "Ladders" act, and in a mixed doubles partner balancing act (which'll be sweet).

Anyway, you know Gymkana runs a summer camp too, right? http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/6984/iconwacko.gif I think it's only for 5-14yr olds, so there's still a way to go for that, but from the stories I've heard from the club members who worked last year's camp, it's a good time. Hell, I was going door-to-door about two weeks ago trying to sell tickets and it turns out that my neighboor two doors up went to that camp every year when she was a kid and she still said it was one of the best times she'd ever had.
