Paleo Carbs
Ive been reading a lot of Martin's stuff on lean gains and have been trying to eat lower fat/higher carb on workout days but have been having trouble getting enough calories eating like this seeing as how my only sources of carbs have been vegetables and fruit. Are there any other good paleo sources of carbs or is the lower fat/higher carb unrealistic when eating paleo?

I can't imagine anyone needing more carbs than what they can get from: raisins, bananas, apples, oranges, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapples, apricots, mangos, pears, watermelons, guava, gooseberry, passion fruit, pomegranate, cranberry, raspberry, blackberry, tomato, fig, date, clementines, plantains, and nectarines.
1 lb of raisins has like 1400 calories. Eat a half pound of raisins, a few apples, some bananas, and you've got yourself 250g of carbs. How many carbs can you possibly need? |
Thats the thing, he doesnt really specify how many carbs is "higher carbs" and how much fat is "lower fat"..

sweet potatoes, squash, yam, taro are good.
i prefer to get my carbs through veg, taro and sweet potatoes. |
oh btw, just saw that martin posted some pictures of food he and his clients eat. this might help you gauge how much carbs you can take
