New Planche Training from Luis Sarabia
http://myplanchetraining.com/316-2/
he's got a new online tutorial that goes in depth on planche training. it costs 15 euros, which people say is about $20. I'm considering getting it, but he already has so much on his site that i wonder if it's basically up there for free anyways. here's the exercise list according to the site Quote:
i'm also not sure if there's much programming advice. |
I'm considering getting it.
He does say there is a program in there, and when I asked, he even offered to work with me on a reduced-volume program (2-3 days/week instead of the standard 5). He seems very enthusiastic and willing to help. |
Honestly, there's no big secret to planche except consistent training over a period of years. Those that get it within a year or even 6 months usually already have significant amounts of strength training behind them or they have freakish genetics (and are relatively on the shorter, ligther side of things).
But you do have to make sure yoru exercises and volume/intensity are enough such that you are making progress over every mesocycle (or microcycle when you're newer to training). I definitely wouldn't pay for a program like that.. but that's just cause I know how to program this stuff effectively. There are no shortcuts..... |
I agree with Steven. Although Luis Sarabia seems like a very enthusiastic and talented in all things involving gymnastics, I believe there are no hidden secrets to obtaining the planche. One should always look back into their routine and see if they have not only researched everything possible to improve it, but as well as apply that knowledge. I seek out knowledgeable sources like Steven and Blair whenever I am having issues.
As far as my planche training goes. It is a very high level skill. I am constantly finding things to work on within my static hold sets. I recently noticed that when I switched to an easier variation, that I was favoring my left arm. So I now focus on keeping the balance more precise. But overall, its $20. I'm sure it has some solid info in there as well. I just would not purchase it with the hopes that it will take the place of hard work and consistent training. |
