So here is a lift taken from the other day and was wondering if anyone has any tips or corrections that I might have missed.
My main weakness is lack of speed, both in the second pull and getting into the catch, and I am also currently working on getting the bar closer to my body during the scoop, as it often gets away from me a bit.
Any other thoughts would be much appreciated as I have been reading discussions on here for a while now and there seem to be some great observations and tips about.
One thing that I can suggest is changing directions faster from that extension point. As soon as you finish that second pull your arms should be pulling you down. It seems you kept pulling for an instant too long.
Other wise the pull positions were good.
Some things that can help for changing directions would be tall snatches and snatches from the hang (or from blocks if available).
That is what I was referring to when I mentioned lack of speed from the second pull to catch, but great to have someone confirm that for me. Have recently started working from the blocks a lot for exactly that reason, but will start to incorporate the tall snatch into warm up sets too and hope to see some more improvement!
Relax your arms and stay over the bar a bit more - that will help you be more explosive at teh top, whcih will help you get under it faster.
