Snatch Advice

I am fairly new to the sport, and am looking for some advice for improving my snatch.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T1yVfyXKy0

That looks pretty good, man! There's only one thing I would advise you on, and that's the bang away from your body as your bar meets your hips. Muscle snatches helped correct this on me because it forced me to keep my lats engaged as my elbows went up and out. Give it a shot, if you wish.

Great work -- keep it up!

Thanks for the advice, once question though. Would that be easier to learn by pulling from the blocks? I have been doing superman pulls to warm up before I work snatches too.

You're new? Man, you're so fast I cant even see if you're doing anything wrong haha. Nice work. Shoulders looked a little wonky on rep 2, probably because of what Javi mentioned.

If you post a video of you doing something heavier it may show more errors.

Yes brand new, self taught through youtube videos. I'll get a video of my next snatch pr attempt and post that, it will probably give you guys a little more to work with.

Yes, working off blocks should help as well if you remember to flex your lats down. I recommended muscle snatches because I had a similar problem. The closer the bar stays, the "easier" muscle snatches become. The same hold true for your conventional snatches.
