Box jumps immediately after squats
• Back squat - 75% x 3 x 5; follow each set immediately with 3 box jumps
I noticed this done in a polish video of weightlifting training as well.
Why would someone do that?
I use it as a way to get the body recruiting more/higher-threshold motor units. You fatigue the legs with the squats, then force them to be explosive. I also find it helps lifters keep their speed up when doing heavy squats where the lift speed is often unavoidably slow.
