Upgrading a garage gym
So right now in my garage gym I have an older Rogue bar and some hi temps and a nice little platform and squat stand set up.
Would you upgrade the bar or the plates first? What would you get?
I was looking at getting a Pendlay bearing bar (because it is a garage gym in Canada, and Eleiko is out of my reach) and potentially some of the econ plates.
Having never had the opportunity to lift with really nice (or even just a step up from Rogue) bar or plates I find myself unsure of what to do that direction, if having competition bumpers make a difference over the hi-temps for a relatively novice/intermediate lifter.
I would go bar first. I would look at a DHS bar over a pendley. Then get some plates you can afford. The high quality bumpers have a less of a bounce.
