CrossFit gymnastics, bridge holds and lower back health?
I have a question about the bridge hold or stretch that you encounter frequently in gymnastics and crossfit.
If I´m not mistaken this move places the lumbar spine in overextension?
My question is if this is really a desirable thing seeing as many or most other movements require lumbar stability and many under heavy loads like squats, cleans, deadlifts and so on.
What´s the purpose of the bridge hold and is it really appropriate doing if the other training consists of heavy lifts requiring lumbar stability like the ones mentioned above?
