I read a piece on Glenn's blog where he talks about a split program he likes for making the transition from general strength training to olympic weightlifting. He also uses it sometimes for his own lifters if they need a bit of down time after a competition or similar. He only described it vaguely so I took the liberty of putting a program together using his template. I've been doing it myself and have tweaked it a gazillion times along the way but I'm pretty happy with what I've ended up with. You can find it on my blog and I'd be very happy to hear what you think about it.
How long did these sessions take you? Great write up by the way. I am looking to take a little time away from hard Olympic weightlifting and just doing some basic strength and conditioning work. With that said, I don't want to lose my lifts. I think twice a week will be enough for olympic lifts. This program looks like a good template but I can only imagine D1 and D3 are very long sessions?? What are some of the other tweaks that you tried for it? Thanks for any input.
