I agree w the two previous posts. Generally the rule is cracking without pain is not a concern, although I would certainly make sure you're doing plenty of pre and post workout foam rolling on your quads in particular (all asoects) and quad and hip flexor stretching to make sure your kneecap is gliding properly.
