You need to push the back back against yourself as it passes the knees - you and the bar diverge there - you move backward away from it and it keeps going straight up. Try some snatches will a really slow pull from the floor to the upper thigh - don't slow down or stop, but be slow enough that you can feel the bar contact your upper thighs or hips, and finish your extension with your shoulders slightly behind your hips
