Default Clean analysis

This is a clean from my wife who's been lifting since I started, 4 months ago. She did go for the jerk on her first, but it was much too heavy. We're trying to get her jerk strength up but it's taking awhile to get it higher.

Any and all help appreciated!

I think overall it's a decent clean. I think she could be a little more aggressive on the pull. Also, instead of bringing her elbows back and around, she should work on pulling herself down under the bar with her elbows out and up.

There are a number of thing she could do to strengthen the jerk. Without seeing it, it's hard to suggest certain exercises that could build strength as well as correct technique. But general strength for the jerk portion she could do some presses, push presses, jerk dip squats, jump squats (for driving out of the dip) and jerk supports.

There are exercise demo videos on the website if you don't know how exactly these exercises are supposed to be done. Here's the link:

Great, thanks for the loads of info! I will start working on getting her elbows up and out more and more aggressive.

I will definitely get a video up of her jerk. She feels most comfortable with power jerks (trying to get closer to squat jerk) as opposed to split jerks (me as well.)

Thanks a lot!!
