Default Jerk Block top - Oregon or hardwood

Hi,

about to order the wood for the jerk blocks.

the top will be 4"x4" (100mmx100mm) - anyone know if i should use oregon or hardwood.

I got Oregon for the top and pine for everything else.

The finished product is a great design and work real well. There is no movement.

Do not underestimate how much work there is in cutting and putting these things together.

I copped a load of warped and bowed pine and had all sorts of trouble using the clamps to get the things together. So make sure you have straight timber. Otherwise I would not have had any problem.
