Default Multiple reps.

I've noticed on a few training videos that some athletes do not stand up with every repetition on snatches when performing multiple (2-3) reps. They catch the bar in the squat position, stabilize, then let the bar fall forward before doing the next rep, then stand with the last attempt. So...why? when? what for? yes/no?
