I think he's got a belt on under his shirt.

It's a continental clean...lots of strongmen do it that way because they can't clean it or even PC it.

notice the mixed grip at the start, then the high pull on top of the belt, then the grip switch...clean and push jerk.

Weird looking lift, I have seen what Shaf says in regards to the strongman thing when watching them with the stones but never seen it done with a bar like that. I was wondering what he was doing with the mixed grip at the start too.
